How to eat sushi

Gaining a little knowledge about sushi etiquette can make your sushi dining experience more enjoyable.

Each piece of sushi in your Omakase Big Sky meal is seasoned by the Chef. If it is not, dip the nigiri in a soy sauce fish-side (not rice-side) down. You can further season your sushi by placing wasabi on top of each piece of fish. Then, use ginger to clean your palate. Eating sushi in this way gives you a richer experience of the textures and flavors of the meal than when you use chop-sticks. Rolls and appetizers can be eaten with chop-sticks. When sharing food, or grabbing a bite of shared appetizers or a garnish like ginger from the table, you should use the back of your chop-sticks.

Maguro (bluefin tuna) is the most prized fish in Japanese sushi culture. Akami is lean tuna. Chu torro is medium-fat tuna, and o-torro is fatty tuna.
